As a self-proclaimed extreme beauty junkie who’s outrageously picky (but let’s call it opinionated) when it comes to skin care and makeup, there are few things that get me going more than a super efficient face mask that leaves your skin the way it says it will. None of that crappo false advertising junk that is designed for the sole purpose of stealing your money. No thanks, this stuff is the real deal and trust me, I’ve tried a LOT of face masks.

I have a friend at work who sells Mary Kay, (you can find her here to order) and since I always love supporting babes with side hustle, I purchase products from her from time to time and it’s great because I get to support her, and it gives me an excuse to feed my beauty product addiction–win win!

I think my mom used to sell Mary Kay like 30 years ago, but other than that, I haven’t heard much abut the brand at all and assumed it must just be for old ladies or something. But I was so wrong, and it’s definitely a hidden gem that stays on top of the latest makeup and beauty trends all the while being the highest of quality. Which reminds me, I need to post about the most perfect pink Glossy Lip Oil I snagged last week. It makes your lips look so full and perfectly hydrated (and lipgloss is definitely one of those products I was referring to when I said I was super picky)! It’s also the most perfect colour and NOT sticky.

Anyways, back to the mask! It’s called Clearproof Deep Cleansing Charcoal Mask and I’m all about it. I’m obsessed with masking, but try not to do it too often since it can be counter productive if it’s done too much. So far, I’ve been applying this one about twice per week, and I notice the benefits every time, which is bad because it makes me want to mask EVERY DAY! But willpower pays and less is more, yadda yadda.

I’m also not exaggerating when I tell you my makeup looks 10x more perfect after I use this mask the night before. BONUS TIP: Want extra clear and glowy skin for an important event? Wear zero makeup for an entire day before (it will let the skin breath and recharge), chug lemon water on the hour every hour, and charcoal mask it up. Your makeup will be so primed and you’ll get so many compliments on your skin, I promise.

Here’s the magic cocktail:

Extracts of Rosemary and Peppermint – antimicrobial, antibacterial, and antiseptic

Honeysuckle – antioxidant and fights against infections

Navy Bean Extracts – target the appearance of skin discolouration and soothe skin

Salicylic Acid – dissolves dead skin by exfoliating and purifying, clears pores

Kaolin and Bentonite Clays – absorbs excess oil instantly and reduces shine

KEY PLAYER: *Activated Charcoal* – absorbs DOUBLE its weight in impurities and digs up to three layers deep, acting as a magnet as it pulls out junk in pores
