My Aunty Monica is in town from Calgary and I always love doing her makeup when she’s in town. We go to Hawaii often together where I do her makeup most nights, so it’s always like a bit of a throw back when I make her over.
Tonight she’s headed to a concert with my my mom, so I did her makeup. It’s fun and a bit challenging doing makeup on lots of different types of people with different skin tones, ages, features, and tastes and totally what I thrive on. Since i know she doesn’t like anything too overboard (and neither do I), I simply perfected her skin and then although you can’t tell from this pic, added a subtle, shimmery green liner to her top lash line before adding a few coats of mascara. It’s important to avoid any shimmery shades of shadows as they can sink in and enhance fine lines.
Especially against brown eyes, I thought the unexpected shade of green was a really pretty touch and something she probably wouldn’t do herself.
1) Before. Bare face.
2.) Still not finished, but skin prepped:
-Foundation primer
-Foundation (two colours mixed to achieve her perfect shade)
-A setting powder
-Blush & Contour
-Highlight on cheekbones (My obsession: M.A.C. Mineralize Skinfinish in Soft and Gentle!)
3.) Ta-da! All ready.
Still quite natural looking, but such a difference!
She’s such a babe! Before and after!

Aww! She’s gorgeous!! ❤
What do you recommend in terms of makeup for the skin (whatever that may be)? I've really never used any type of foundation or powder or whatever the heck its called. I don't even know what I'm saying right now! There are so many products and I don't even know where to begin. I'd like to buy something to make my skin look more even and stuff, for when I have to dress up or be photographed or whatever. How do I do it? What do I do? What do I buy? LOL If you did a post about basic stuff like that, I'd be interested!
